Newark Airport to Princeton. Train: New Jersey Transit train to the Princeton Junction train station. When you arrive at Newark Airport, take the AirTrain from the airport terminal, which will drop you off at the New Jersey Transit Newark Airport train station. New Jersey Transit tickets can be purchased at the entrance to the AirTrain stations in each airport terminal, and the cost is approximately $18 each way. (Your destination station should be Princeton, rather than Princeton Junction.) Keep your ticket as you get off at Princeton Junction, and from there take the shuttle (Dinky) over to the town of Princeton. Everything in Princeton is within a walks distance, but instead of taking the Dinky and walking to the hotel you can also take a cab directly from Princeton Junction ($15-20).

JFK Airport to Princeton. Train: Take the AirTrain to the Jamaica Station (red line) then pick up the LIRR line (Long Island Railroad) (gray line) to Manhattan (Penn Station), from Penn Station you take New Jersey Transit Northeast Corridor Line to Princeton. (Your destination station should be Princeton, rather than Princeton Junction.) Keep your ticket as you get off at Princeton Junction, and from there switch over to the shuttle (Dinky), which will take you to the town of Princeton. By Train:
From New York City: Take a New Jersey Transit train from New York Penn station to Princeton station (not to be confused with “Princeton Junction” when purchasing). You will need to switch to the local shuttle (Dinky) at Princeton Junction. Keep your ticket when you transfer! Everything in Princeton is within a walks distance, but instead of taking the Dinky and walking to the hotel you can also take a cab directly from Princeton Junction ($15-20).
Amtrak: Amtrak trains do not normally stop at the Princeton Junction train station.
Amtrak from the north: From the north, you should switch to a New Jersey Transit train in either New York City or Newark. Take NJ Transit train to the Princeton train station(not to be confused with “Princeton Junction when purchasing). You will need to switch to the local shuttle (Dinky) at Princeton Junction. Keep your ticket when you transfer!
Amtrak from the south: From the south, you will get off at the Trenton train station. From there you can either take a taxi to Princeton (approx. $50-$60), or switch to a NJ Transit train in Trenton and take that to the Princeton train station (see above).

Seems perfectly clear to me. When you get to Princeton Junction (from New York Penn Station) you transfer to the Dinky to gent to Princeton Station.
When going back to New York you do the opposite – take the Dinky from Princeton Station to Princeton Junction and then change for a train to New York Penn station.
It’s backwards. Your instructions. I agree, confusing indeed. Confusing Princeton Station with Princeton Junction – please consider revising.
When you get to the Princeton Train station don’t you take a shuttle to the Princeton Junction station? Your directions are confusing for New York City.
Shouldn’t the directions say “You need to switch to the local shuttle (Dinky) at Princeton Station to get to Princeton Junction.
Because your directions do not tell you how to get to Princeton Junction.
